The city space is a charming mix of both - the fine old buildings which are rich in architecture and is also home to the high-rise modern skyscrapers.

This cosmopolitan city houses the European Central bank. As the trading and banking capital of Europe, the central business district has a very North American flavor to it and thus ended up with a unique nickname - Mainhatten. Take a cruise down River Main if you want to soak in and appreciate the city in it's entirety which offers breathtaking views of the modern superstructures as well as traditional fine old buildings.

This truly global and international city houses an array of fairs which draws in millions of tourists and businessmen/women from around the world. Literary enthusiasts can stop by at Goethe House and Museum which is the birthplace and family home of Germany's greatest writer, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Folks who appreciate old-school music may be interested to visit the old opera house (Alte Oper) which was constructed in 1880. If Munich is the land of beers then Frankfurt attracts tourists by offering their unique and lip-smacking Apfelwein ( apple wine) which are drunk in characteristic hatched glasses. When it comes to culinary, visitors can try out the Grune Sosse, a green sauce. It is made of sour cream mixed with seven herbs and is usually served with beef, schnitzel, or hard-boiled eggs.
