When you are in the Hunter Valley, be sure to binge on sparkling wine, boutique beer, delicious chocolates, appetizing cheese and tasty olives. This town in New South Wales, Australia is renowned for its stunning scenery, luscious national parks, incredible vineyards and serene towns. Hunter Valley is known for being one of the biggest river valleys on the NSW coast, and is mostly known for its amazing wineries and coal industry.

Kick-start the trip by heading over to the Tyrrell's vineyard. It is known to be an old-school vineyard (since 1858) with interesting wine tours. Do drop by at the Tower Estate. It is set up by one of Australia's major wine industry figures, the late Len Evans. This posh winery comes with a package of great accommodations and dining options.

Make some time to explore the Hunter Valley Gardens. Nature lovers would sure enjoy spending quality time exploring the green space. It is housed in the heart of the Pokolbin wine-growing district. The gardens sport shimmering Christmas lights display every year.

Take a trip to the town of Wollombi. Explore this old-world settlement and walk through a maze of aesthetically-pleasing old sandstone buildings and antique shops. Moreover, there is a museum in the old courthouse with the 19th-century clothing and bushranger memorabilia. Wander about the McWilliams Mount Pleasant Estate. At this estate, part of Australia's largest family-owned wine company, chief winemaker Jim Chatto carries on the tradition of generating sparkling Hunter wines. The flagship Maurice O'Shea Shiraz and Chardonnay, and the shimmering Elizabeth Semillon, are among the wines that can be tasted in the massive cellar door.

When it comes to cuisine, there are a lot of restaurants serving local fare. As for wines, be sure to visit any of the wineries and sample some of their finest.
