Perched on the eastern shores of Lake Constance, Bregenz is sure situated at a picturesque and scenic location. The capital of Voralberg, the westernmost federal state of Austria, is renowned for hosting many festivals and being home to several cultural institutions. It is also home to the New Town Hall (Rathaus) built in 1636 and the adjacent Lake Chapel of St. George (Seekapelle). Spend some time at the old Bregnenz Upper Town. Some of the highlights are the Old Town Hall (Alte Rathaus), the Deuringschlosschen, the walled Capuchin Monastery and Church from 1636 with the Chapel of St. Joseph (added in the 18th century) and the spectacular Parish Church of St. Gallus.

Stop over at the Voralberg Museum - founded in 1857 - to retain the state's rich cultural heritage. It is home to an exemplary collection of historical, cultural, and artistic interest ranging from prehistoric times to the present day. If you wish to catch a glimpse of contemporary architecture, then do pay a visit to the magnificent Kunsthaus Bregnenz - a sleek steel and glass structure. It is popular for hosting a wide array of rotating exhibits of international contemporary art.
